IC:

Character Name: Cayde-6
Age: Unknown, but he does confirm he's "way older than [126]". He does also imply this iteration of him was risen toward the end of the dark age though, so I could tell you he's probably the youngest member of the Vanguard.
Canon: Destiny
Canon Point: Forsaken, after his death.

CRAU: (OPTIONAL: Clarify any CRAUs here)

History: (Your character’s backstory up to their canon point. A wiki link is fine.)

Personality: (A description of your character’s personality. This may take any form that you find useful)

Abilities: Oh boy.
    Exo
  • This one's pretty short actually. Exos were built to be durable bodies for humanity, in practice this made them mistakenly thought of as war machines in the future owing to their strength, endurance, and the fact that they rarely get tired. So, super tough robots.

    Guardian
  • Ghost: Cayde's ghost, Sundance, is the source of his powers as a Guardian. Alongside being his little light-powered battery pack, she's able to revive and heal him — though I imagine here she'll lose her revival ability — has the ability to hack and interface with various technology (at mod/player discretion,) scan lifeforms, (again, at mod/player discretion,) provide him with a radar that just gives an idea of where people/enemies/etc. are in relation to him, and function as a hands-free comms device! With her own input on occasion.

  • Guardians have extremely enhanced strength, stamina & durability. Aliens hate them.

  • Hunter: Hunters are Destiny's version of rogues, and as such they are agile, annoying, and squishy. They're made for maneuverability, accuracy, and stealth. Where Titans and Warlocks have their methods for staying put, Hunters come equipped with triple jumps and quick dodges to stay out of harm's way instead.

  • Gunslinger Even though arcstrider and nighstalker are both basekit as of D2, we're just gonna toss them both right out the window and focus on Cayde's preferred subclass. Gunslingers are the coolest subclass anyway. They harness Solar Light to give all of their fancy powers some nice fire. They can use it in the form of grenades — of which Cayde prefers the tripmine, which is what it says on the tin — or throwing knives. They also have their Super which comes in three forms: Two types of Golden Gun, one that focuses on accuracy or another that's effectively fanning the hammer, or Blade Barrage which is. Well it's just a lot of knives.
I'm not completely sure how to explain Radiance and Cayde died before Solar 3.0 anyway so let's not get into that.

  • He does, during his Last Stand scene, get pulled out of his super and then switch to a different one half a minute later which is generally something only pretty powerful guardians can do. That's information I'm not really sure what to do with.

    General
  • Marksman: Cayde's accuracy is commented on a decent few times, and demonstrated fairly well in his final scene versus the Scorn where he's there nailing headshots without even looking. (It makes sense, considering his signature gun's perk activates on precision kills.) In general, he's a highly capable fighter and it shows.

  • Tinkerer: He's shown to be fairly adept with technology, modifying armour pieces to give, uh. Lucky benefits in the crucible, and modifying alien technology. He's no gunsmith or engineer, but he can jury rig a lot of things to do what he needs.

  • Scout: Any Hunter worth their salt is a skilled scout; one who can assess danger from a distance, find the information others can't, and stay hidden because frankly they're much squishier than Titans and their skills depend more on close range than Warlocks, and Cayde was one of the top scouts for the previous Hunter Vanguard for a reason. ... A reason other than the fact that they were besties.

  • As I mentioned in his personality, he has a sharp mind that's naturally investigative. Though he resents the responsibility, Cayde is very good at assessing threats and deciding how best to tackle — how to allocate troops, effectively. Harvesting information is something he's also very good at, something you see in the scouts under him too. Shiro-4, for instance, is much more no-nonsense than Cayde, but he has that same straightforward problem solving attitude and need to know everything about a given situation. It's likely why Cayde’s day-to-day role was handling bounties and assassination targets.

Inventory: (What items does your character arrive with in Requiem?)

Eternal Reward: Andal. Bring back Andal. They don't have to be together, he just needs to know Andal is alive out there, living his best life.
